Ram patch for windows 7 32-bit. Feb 08, 2014 The patch uses 32-bit Windows Server 2008 (for Windows Vista) and Windows Server 2008 R2 (for Windows 7) kernel which support (or should I say licensed to use) more than 4GB RAM. Since it's still 32-bit, you won't notice any improvements because applications still coded in 32-bit and can't take advantages of the bigger RAM capacity.

I wanted component speakers for my XJ Cherokee because the old paper factory speakers are located down by my feet and adding a tweeter up top should help a lot with sound imaging. These were also less expensive than many of the other component speaker sets with similar specs. Since I'll be mounting the tweeters in a non-factory location, I'll be using the grilles that come with the speakers and I wanted something that didn't look tacky. These fit the bill perfectly. The set has good specs. This set has the highest sensitivity, 92 dB, in my budget range. The low end is only 60 Hz but I will add a sub-woofer some day. Rockford has a good rep and, lastly, they will not stand out visually and tempt someone to break in the car. [ Gary Nov 10, 2016 ]

A component system gives you more flexibility to tailor the sound of your environment to your specific tastes. I have a 2004 Tundra with the factory JBL system. I am planning on also purchasing the Pioneer AVIC-5201NEX receiver. Will the tweeters in this system fit in the factory location or does 'surface mount tweeter' mean just that - I must surface mount the tweeters and, somehow, bypass those that are in the door?
[ Joel Aug 01, 2019 ]
These will not fit into your factory locations. you would be replacing the stock one in the system, and these would need to be surface mounted or your would have to make significant modifications to fit the in your door/panel.
Will these fit in a 99 prelude door cause it say it can on another website?
[ WolfsterTK Jun 19, 2019 ]
Purchase the universal adapter plates and should be fine
I have a 2002 XJ Sport. Recently bought these speakers. Haven't installed them. I'm wanting to use the Alpine-KTP445U on my stock headunit. Is it worth running these speakers on that amp? Or is it a waste to amp these up? I'm not trying to go all out on a stereo upgrade. Just an improvement on my stock setup. I mostly listen to rap and trance in my car.
[ Brandon Jun 02, 2019 ]
These Rockford's are a sensitive speaker, so stock stereo power will drive them, but it's never a bad idea to add an amp to any set of speakers. The Alpine KTP445U is a great amp to go with in this application. You're only going to be overpowering them very slightly, so no harm in using that amp!
What's the tweeter's diameter?
[ ryan Apr 22, 2019 ]
The diameter is 1 and 11/16'.
The tweeter size is 0.5', with a total diameter ( frame and everything) of 1.574'.
I have a 2 channel amp rated at 80 x 2 RMS, is it too much for my RF R165-S (40 RMS)?
[ Weedle Apr 04, 2019 ]
You can but you will burn them out if you decide to crank up the volume. I would recommend to have speakers that take more watts than the amp, just my opinion. That way you know for sure you won't blow out the speakers.
Should be fine. It is always to have extra power and reduce the gain at the amp. Usually they sound better when they are not push to the limit ( both amps and speakers). The speakers are 80 Watts peak
Will these work on the front door in a 2002 Nissan xterra xe with a DXMRM57BT unit?
[ ddia901 Mar 05, 2019 ]
yes
I am not sure, Teck services should be able to help you with that answer. I installed them in my wife's 2006 Honda Pilot and they work and sound Great! there is some modifications that you might have to do, I had to do some on mine but nothing you wouldn't be able to do I am sure.
It depends if yours has the pillar tweeters or not. You can fit 6.5 or a 6x9 in your vehicle so you should be all set. Now with your head unit it may not be the best unit out there but it will work. Just do not crank it up to high because you will get distortion. I would recommend a amp for you in car speakers to help or a stronger head unit.
I'm looking at putting these in the door of my Silverado. What ohm rating am I going to be looking for? I wanted to run a 4 ohm 4 channel amplifier, and power 2 8' mid bass speakers off of the same 4 channel amp.
[ rcolsenjr Apr 02, 2018 ]
The Rockford Fosgate Prime R165-S speakers are conventional 4 Ohm impedance so, when connected to an external amplifier, you can expect to get the amp's rated output for 4 Ohms. For additional assistance and personalized recommendations, feel free to contact us directly by phone or through our online chat service:https://www.crutchfield.com/support/ContactUs.aspx
Is the tweeter the R1T-S?
[ Will M Mar 31, 2018 ]
I don't know
When I wire these tweeters do they need to be hooked up to the terminals on my the mid range or do they simply need to be hooked to the same channel?
[ Mr. Feb 28, 2018 ]
It is best to hook them to the mid range because it has a crossover built in.
They hook up to the mid speakers. They have very long wires so you can mount them anywhere.
my vehicle did not come with component speakers. is there a built in crossover or will i need to buy that seperately?
[ cole Feb 21, 2018 ]
Yep! As James indicated in his reply, the Rockford Fosgate Prime R165-S speakers include a 6 dB/octave high-pass crossover integrated into the case of each tweeter. Hope that helps! :)
There are in line cross overs in the wiring. Great for plug and play. Good if you have little space for an active crossover.
Will these speaker pair decently with a pioneer mvh-x290bt in a 2000 nissan frontier? currently have an older pioneer head unit
[ VJ Dec 06, 2017 ]
These speakers can definitely work with the power of your Pioneer radio because they can handle 2-40 watts RMS and that Pioneer outputs 14 watts RMS for each. You might consider calling an advisor on 1-800-324-9695 to discuss your listening preferences and get a personal recommendation on this match. My Bio: http://www.crutchfield.com/Support/Bio.aspx?bio=101
I don't know if it will fit your vehicle or how they will sound with the pioneer deck, but I have them in my 2011 Jeep Wrangler with a Kenwood deck and they sound great, way better then stock. Real crisp, real clean, I put MTXs in my 2004 Chevy Silverado, which are great, but kind of wish I would have put these in them. Great speaker.
what are the dimensions of these speakers?
[ Yosi Aug 18, 2017 ]
5 1/4 inch
Would pairing these with a Sony MEX-XB100BT be a good choice?
[ Laremy Aug 16, 2017 ]
Yes, these speakers are very effective with that system.
Should be a fine match. the speakers are great even without an extra amp.
I haven't installed these yet because I am reluctant of blowing them - my amp is 100 watt RMS per channel and the speakers are only rated @ 40 RMS. I know it's always better to overpower rather than to underpower speakers, but would it be safe to cnnect these to the amp ( I can lower the levels on the HU, but still nervous! Help???
[ BRIAN Jul 17, 2017 ]
Brian, traded-in the vehicle that these were installed in about 4 months ago, but no issues when I owned them. My OEM amp wasn't that powerful though.
Will these fit in the rear doors of my 2007 STI?
[ Angel Jun 04, 2017 ]
You can check to see if this will fit your vehicle by using our Outfit My Car tool: http://www.crutchfield.com/car/carselector.aspxFor additional details on fit or installation please contact an Advisor by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat. They will be able to pull up your vehicle and give you the details on if this will fit and what you will need for an installation in your vehicle.
I want to install these in my rear doors and there isn't a place for the tweeters, so can I leave them off?
[ JEREMIAH S Apr 07, 2017 ]
Technically I think so, but that's all your high end / vocals. So you will just have a lot of mid-tones and bass if you leave them out. You should look at getting a 2 or 3 way speaker that fits your rear door. There should be lots.
Sure, but it would be a crime to do so! Plan it out just a bit more, I've never heard of someone regretting extra work for tweeters!
Jeremiah,I installed my set in a 2002 GMC Seirra Pickup in the front doors. My original setup included separate tweeters, so it wasn't necessary to leave them out. But, I don't see why you couldn't lead them out. You will lose some high end response however.
Better sound with them. I didn't have a factory spot either, so made one to fit. If you can't find a spot, go without the tweeter
Yes you can. But will only have mid level sound.
I have a 2010 Tundra and I want to replace the rear door speakers with these. Do I need to replace the front dash tweeters with the tweeters in this set or can I leave them off?
[ JEREMIAH S Apr 05, 2017 ]
Jeremiah, I installed the speakers in 1967 F100 and used the retro housings for them, because there was just one speaker in dash. The speakers sound great so I would say use the tweeters. my opinion Tim
Well I left mine off and kept he factory ones. They say I should have replaced them but I didn't. It does sound a little better but I did the rear speakers also. Even with all the door speakers replaced, there was not a huge improvement so do not expect it. The factory radio, if that is what you have is detuned and it sucks. If you you want better quality plan on replacing the head unit. There is another company called Taco Tunes that makes a tuner and amp that plugs into the factory head unit if that is what you want. I want to give it a try but just haven't had the time to deal with it.
Is there away to bypass the hpf and use the head unit hpl? If not what would the radios crossover setting be so it would even out and not damage the speakers ?
[ James Mar 31, 2017 ]
I was not happy with the range on these speakers. I do not think they have the capabilities you are looking for. I would suggest going higher end.
I have a 2009 hyundai sonata with the infinity system. Can i connect the tweeters directly to the stock tweeter connectors or will they have to be connected to the woofer?

You can connect them directly, but you take a chance on mismatched power levels and mismatched crossover slopes, as well as the chance that the factory stereo has pre-equalized the sound to the tweeters. It'll work but your'e better off hooking up these speakers as intended.
I know the stock wiring will work fine, but I don't know about the 'connectors'.
Do these come with external crossovers or are they built in like the Rockford Fosgate P16-S's?
[ Sandman51 Dec 09, 2016 ]
No there is no crossover supplied. The Prime series is primarily for factory replacement and no other upgrades. They sound good at low wattage, but if you're adding an amplifier I would go with something in The Punch or Power series. Both of which come with a passive crossover.
They are built in
There is no external crossover. Aso far as I know, nothing is built into these speakers either. I had them in my Jeep, running off a Kenwood deck, and it was adequate at best. If you use an amp they'll probably be good. Jeeps have terrible acoustics anyway
The crossovers are built in.
It is only a capacitor for the tweeter. Not a separate crossover.
I have a 2009 toyota rav4 without the JBL sysytem. If I buy these to replace my front door speakers and tweeter, do I need a new crossover, or is there one already in my car?
[ Ben Oct 17, 2016 ]
The factory door woofers and tweeters are wired in parallel so, if you plan to power the speakers with the stock wattage, you'll need to connect the factory tweeter's input & output leads together in order for the woofer to still get the power & signal. As a result, you will want to use the crossovers provided with the components and run new wire from it's outputs to the separate midbass and tweeters.I hope that helps. My Bio:http://www.crutchfield.com/Support/Bio.aspx?bio=5
do these speakers come with all 4 for the doors or do you have to buy 4 separate speakers?
[ Duffy Sep 21, 2016 ]
Thanks for your question. This is for one pair that includes the woofer and tweeter. It would only cover two doors. Hope that helps.
Can the tweeters and the woofers be used in a 3 way active setup? I'm planning to use these with Pioneer 80prs HU and Focal sub.
[ Sukhjinder Sep 11, 2016 ]
You can if your amp or head unit supports 3 way speakers
I am not 100% sure on this setup, but seems like it should work without any issues. Best of luck!!!
Will these need to be custom installed in a 2007 Chrysler 300 C? What's the difference between a component system and the 3 Way speaker?
[ Tara Aug 04, 2016 ]
A component system has a separate tweeter and woofer, so you get 4 independant speekers. Where a 3-way has the the tweeter, crossover and woofer built into one unit, so only two assembled speakers will come in the box.
Alright Tara, not sure about the install, usually the Crutchfield site will tell you what you need for install in your car when you select it. As for the difference between 3-way and component; the major difference is assembly. A component speaker set has and mid range woofer and separate high pass filter, and the high range tweeter. If your powering the speakers with a separate amplifier I 100% recommend the component setup. If you just want beetle than stock speakers I would stick with a normal 3way. Install will be easier with the 3way.
As long as your speaker door holes are for the size of speaker you should be fine. Might need to get wire connectors from wires in door and cut the custom fitting on your speakers came with your 300C. Component system and 3 way..3 way has highs, mids and subwoofer..so basically your treble, mid-range and bass all in one speaker..component has speakers in the door and then your tweeters as well..I would prefer the 3 way speaker for best sound..hope this helped somewhat, have a good day!!!
I have a 2000 civic and am wondering about tweeter placement will they fit in the factory location?

Is it product 2 speakers or just one ?
[ Chancetenneh Feb 27, 2016 ]
This includes 2 Woofers 2 Tweeters, you can see everything that comes in the box on the product page under the details tab. Hope that helps.
How many watts are each of these speakers?
[ Samantha Feb 15, 2016 ]
Thanks for your question. These have a power range: 2-40 watts RMS (80 watts peak power). You'll find this on the main product page overview.
Are the foam surrounds durable as compared to rubber surrounds?
[ joeyl Nov 22, 2015 ]
No! Foam will never be as durable as Rubber. Now with that said, will the foam outlast the speakers life, or the usefulness of the speaker..probably. If you plan on keeping your car forever, live in very dry hot environments and listen to EDM I'd say go for the rubber. If you listen to talk radio, don't plan on keeping your car for more than 5 years and live next to the beach, foam will be fine.As for sound, that is subjective. Some people have seen UFO's too.
Yes I think they are just as durable. I also think the sound better. Hope this helps you out. I have had mine for about two years and I love them. I would choose anything beside Rockford. Good luck
If I was to install these in my 2013 Honda Civic ex sedan both front and rear deck would I have to install them along with an amplifier??
[ Brandon May 28, 2015 ]
Not required but can be helpful. Have these in the rear of my Tundra and they sound great mated to an aftermarket head unit. Granted its getting 30 RMS. I would say you'd be fine as long as the head unit is supplying >20 watts RMS. YMMV and hope that helps.
Depends on your head unit. You need to make sure the speakers impedance matches. Also how many watts your stereo has to push them. I didn't need an amplifier and mine sound awesome
No, just replace old speakers with these.
You don't have to but they will sound better if you do
I have a 2000 LX accord sedan, I'm trying to get some better sound than stock, but without an amp. Will these sound good with a aftermarket alpine deck?
[ Jason Sep 13, 2014 ]
I have a 1998 dodge dakota I've used these on two jvc units and a kenwood unit they awesome! I am extremely picky about my sound as well and I've had the for about a year now still sound good!
My speakers rock
Yes they will. I have an alpine CD receiver and they sounded great!! Especially with an alpine radio because they have a lot of tuning options.
They are good highs. Also get 6x9s for some thump. Country sounds good. Rap not so much
Hello, I do recommend getting an amp as I installed these without an amp and sure they sound good but you're not using them to their full potential. Also since you have an aftermarket deck they will sound even better with the aftermarket amp. But if you're not going to buy an amp might as well keep the stock speakers since most factory amps only push less then 20 watts also not only will it benefit the speakers it will also benefit the deck.
I have a 2007 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited, Do the tweeters fit in the OEM location on the dash?

The Heos 7 HS2 is an updated version of the Heos 7, Denon’s flagship wireless speaker. We were highly impressed by the original version’s killer design, slick multiroom streaming and muscular sound, but the lack of built-in Bluetooth or Hi-Res Audio support denied it the top accolade.
Sensibly, Denon has revisited the Heos 7 and incorporated Bluetooth into the unit itself, rather than throwing in a USB dongle. It’s also added support for Hi-Res Audio files and tweaked the electronics to improve sound quality.
Heos 7 HS2 heads up a four-strong multiroom speaker range that also includes the £349 Heos 5 HS2, £249 Heos 3 HS2 and £135 Heos 1 HS2 – all of which have also been updated to include Bluetooth and Hi-Res music playback.

Denon Heos 7 HS2 – Design and Connections
The spec may have changed but, thankfully, Denon has left Heos 7’s design well alone. It’s a classy, distinctive speaker with a teardrop side profile and minimal front clutter, apart from a discreet Heos badge. The bodywork is mostly clad in a white cloth grille (also available in black), topped off by an eye-catching brushed metallic apex.
It’s still one of the most impressively made wireless speakers I’ve encountered, with a weighty, robust enclosure that fully justifies the price tag. Rubber strips on the bottom provide excellent grip and vibration control when placed on a tabletop.
It’s worth noting that Heos 7 HS2 is bigger than most wireless speakers, measuring a princely 479mm wide. That’s because it’s designed to fill big rooms using the largest driver array of any Heos speaker – seven to be precise.
A strip of light at the bottom not only looks cool but also provides crucial status information in lieu of a text-based display. It flashes green during setup and solid blue when connected. Chunky volume and mute buttons are placed on the side, while at the other end is a 3.5mm headphones output, not found on any other Heos speaker. The rear socketry selection is the same as before, with a 3.5mm analogue input and USB port allowing you to play music from portable devices, an Ethernet port and ‘Connect’ button that comes into play during setup.
However, there is one important new addition – a Bluetooth pairing button, which takes the place of original Heos 7’s reset button.
Denon Heos 7 HS2 – Features
The big news on the features front is the addition of integrated Bluetooth and support for Hi-Res Audio. The original Heos 7 came with a Bluetooth dongle, but it felt like a hasty workaround – having it built in is much more convenient and frees up the USB port.

Elsewhere, the Heos 7 HS2 comes with the same dizzying array of streaming functionality and hi-fi technology. At the heart of the Heos multiroom system is a smartphone app that enables you to stream music from Spotify, Deezer, Napster, Tidal, SoundCloud, TuneIn radio and Mood:Mix. Most of these are natively integrated into Heos, but Spotify requires the dedicated app. You can also access music stored on NAS drives and PCs on your home network. The system supports lossy MP3, WMA and AAC files, lossless FLAC, ALAC and WAV up to 192kHz/24-bit, and DSD 2.8MHz and 5.6MHz.
The Heos app also lets you send individual songs to each Heos speaker around the house, or play the same track through them all in Party Mode.
As an added bonus you can connect a device to one Heos speaker via Bluetooth or analogue, and re-transmit it to other speakers in the ecosystem. Another nifty feature is the ability to use two Heos 7s as left and right channels in a stereo pair.
The River Live 7 1 18
Turning our attention to the audio spec, Heos 7 HS2 is equipped with five active drivers – two tweeters, two mid/bass drivers and one subwoofer – plus two passive radiators. They’re driven by five channels of class D digital amplification (there’s no mention of power output).
Audio performance is enhanced by Waves’ MaxxAudio processing, which uses “psychoacoustic science” to provide intelligent volume control, multi-band equalisation, bass extension and spatial expansion.
Denon Heos 7 HS2 – Operation
Linking the Heos 7 to your home network is a largely automated process through the helpful Heos app. But, unusually, it involves running a cable between your phone’s headphone port and the Denon’s 3.5mm aux input, which seems odd but worked without a glitch.
The Heos app hasn’t changed since we reviewed the original Heos 7, and it remains one of the best around. The layout is simple but attractive, with judicious use of icons and logos. It doesn’t go overboard with flashy graphics and animations like some apps – ease of use is the priority here. What’s more, it’s quick to react and doesn’t get flustered when swiping quickly through long lists of albums or tracks.
The app is basically split into three sections, which you can select using the tabs at the bottom. The first allows you to control your multiroom system. To group Heos speakers together, just drag and drop them onto one another – the music is magically zapped to all the speakers involved.
The Music screen displays available sources and streaming services on a black background. The services are identified by their logos, which is a nice touch, while NAS drives are found under the Music Servers option. Albums are displayed with cover art thumbnails; another example of the app’s attractive presentation.
A third screen displays the current song alongside a range of playback controls and a volume slider. An EQ menu allows you to adjust the bass and treble, while an icon at the top calls up the playback queue, where you can delete tracks or create a playlist from queued tracks.
The only niggle Denon hasn’t ironed out is the inability to jump into the middle of song using the track timeline when streaming from a NAS drive – you can only play it from the start. However, some of the integrated apps, such as SoundCloud, allow you to do it.
Ios 7.1.1
Denon Heos 7 HS2 – Performance
Just like the original Heos 7, the HS2 delivers a huge, muscular sound that would have no trouble filling a village hall, let alone a living room. The combination of deep, beefy bass and a full-bodied mid-range give everything solidity and warmth.
The tight fusion of thumping kick drums and a live bassline in “Something About You” by Sean McCabe results in a remarkably cohesive sound. The Denon drives the tune along with great energy and a superb rhythmic sense, making head-nodding compulsory.
It packs a huge punch and goes extremely loud. Admittedly, it loses composure and bass control when you push it over 70%, but it will be plenty loud enough before you even get that far.
Vocals are clearly projected and laden with texture, while instruments such as flutes and guitars have a natural, well-rounded tone. Dynamically, the Denon really hits the spot, attacking snare drums with vigour and lending anthemic crescendos pleasing scale and drama.
Tricky rhythms are handled with great agility, and the tweeters tease out plenty of detail. The subtle wind chimes that open “Rainbow Seeker” by Joe Sample have an airy quality; likewise the percussion that tinkles throughout the track. Sample’s dazzling piano solos are crisp and precise.
Switch up to Hi-Res files and the Denon makes the most of its new-found talent. “Barcelona Nights” by David Benoit and Jane Monheit (96kHz/24-bit FLAC) sounds gorgeous – the Spanish guitar break is rich and detailed, while the busy percussion is layered and spacious. The leap in quality sounds obvious through the Denon. Related: What is Hi-Res Audio?
The only negative is that the Denon’s bass output is rather overpowering and boomy, threatening to stifle other elements of the music. Thankfully, you can reduce the level in the EQ menu, which offers better integration if you want it. However, fans of a warm, bassy sound will love the out-the-box settings.
Should I buy the Denon Heos 7 HS2?
The original Heos 7 was already a superb wireless speaker, but the addition of integrated Bluetooth and Hi-Res Audio support takes it to the next level. Whether or not these features should have been included the first time round is a moot point – what matters is that they’re here now and turn the Heos 7 into a formidable multiroom proposition.
But why should you buy this instead of wireless speakers from the likes of Yamaha, Panasonic or Cabasse? For starters, the Denon delivers one of the biggest and most powerful soundstages of any speaker in this price bracket. It easily fills a large room with sound, offering silky detail, deep bass and a robust mid-range. What’s more, Heos is a superb multiroom system, offering an extensive range of online services and streaming music from NAS drives with ease and sophistication.
The only downside is the overpowering bass, which could be an issue for those who prefer a leaner sound – but that isn’t a major issue if you like that sort of thing; if not, the EQ settings provide a decent remedy. Overall, the new and improved Heos 7 gets a big thumbs-up.
Verdict
The Heos 7 HS2 is the wireless speaker Heos 7 should have been, combining room-filling sound and slick streaming with built-in Bluetooth and Hi-Res Audio support.
